Unashamed dependence

2 Corinthians 12:9New American Standard Bible (NASB)

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
Greetings children of God; The place He wants us in is a place of complete dependence on Him, He is our life source. I received the analogy that, He is like the phone charger and we are the phone. We must return to Him to be recharged, our strength comes from Him. When we disconnect we can go out on our own only for a short time, we are filled with His power but we must return to Him for our strength, our life source. To latch onto Him with unashamed dependence, like a newborn baby with its Mother, only seeking her. Only seeking Him, all of that we need is in Him. He said "I have already taken care of the giants" we have no need to worry, the path has been made clear, He has gone before us. To be completely filled with His Spirit, battery complete 100%. Then start your day, head out into the world. I urge you to charge your battery with the one true Life Source that will never let you down. Yay God!!! We ask for fresh filling of the Holy Spirit today and every day.

Speaking of newborn babies, Roree Marie has finally arrived. I am officially a Nana. Mother and baby are doing wonderfully, divine favor is all over them. We are blessed by the addition to our family, thank you John and Zoe.

"To Mexico with Love" is having a taco fundraiser May the 15th at the First Presbyterian Church from 11:30-1:30. Taco lunch and live auction by Curt VanNess.

Please attend for those of you in the Bishop/Mammoth area, a great way to support the ministry and also enjoy the fellowship.
The ministry is going through a lot of changes, we trust in the Lord for His guidance and direction. For many years we were able to get food from one of the food banks here in the US and take it over to help give some relief to the needy. That door has closed and we are sure that the Lord will provide a way for us to continue to help with food for those who hunger. We provide a bag of food with prayer and hope for the future. Because for those we help, I believe they begin to think who is this God that would send these people here all the way from their homes and jobs in the United States to come and help us with our daily needs, our basic needs. God does see me, He does hear my prayers, I do matter to Him. The food is an avenue that we use to open the doors, to help begin to set the captives free. Poverty is a cycle that can be broken, Jesus is the answer and we are His vessels. We are commissioned to, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

One of the avenues that we believe that the Lord is leading us down is through education of the children and young adults. To keep the kids in school, originally I wanted to begin only a program to help send kids to College but once I moved out into the rural area of Cerro Azul I realized that the children were not even getting to high school let alone college. We are helping to keep children in primary and secondary school along with raising funds to help with their college education. Each child must have two uniforms one for PE and one for regular classes, plus shoes for each uniform. That does not sound like a lot but if you have seven children and they all require these uniforms and the only income is a Father who works making bricks which is dependent upon the weather and other factors. These things add up and sometimes only the boys get to go or only the oldest children get to go to school. So we are working on providing uniforms and backpacks and school supplies to help break the cycle of poverty by helping to keep kids in school.
With all of that being said we currently have three young ladies who are ready to attend University. They are sisters who come from a family of nine the youngest having down syndrome, they lost their Father to suicide when they were young and their Mother has been the sole provider. These girls have overcome many obstacles, their faith is strong. They are mighty prayer warriors and I feel honored to help them with their goal of going to University to better themselves and their family.
This is Narahi and she will be majoring in Business Administration.

Abby will be majoring in Customs and Trade and in the future would love to be a Veterinarian.

Ellie will be majoring in Law, these girls are amazing and we are blessed to have them in our lives.
The cost for University is 1,200.00 dollars per year, that includes all of the fees for registration and testing. All three of these girls currently work and all three live at home with their Mom.

Juanita has overcome so many obstacles and with the help of God and His children she has become victorious. We need to raise 10,000.00 to send all three of these girls to University and they will all finish with Bachelors degrees. The programs are three years here in Mexico with three semesters per year. The girls start classes in August.
I believe that God has this covered and He is telling me to put the need out there and let the people know about what is needed and He will take care of the rest. We help one person at a time one family at a time, if we look at all of the need around us we will wilt. It may seem hopeless if we look at the earthly circumstances. When we raise our eyes above to our Father who created heaven and earth the possibilities are endless.

How can you help? First of all we need prayer, these are the areas that are touching our hearts at this moment in time.
*Prayer for affordable food to dispense to those in need, new doors to open and clear paths to take.
*Please lift the girls up in prayer for funding for University
*Please pray for the education program to help fight poverty
*Please pray for the transitional housing project that will be helping children leaving orphanages with no place to go, opening soon. Yay God!!
*Praise report for the physical and emotional healing's that have been taking place in our area. Thank you Lord for using us as instruments for your healing.
*Praise report that Frank and I received confirmation about being added to the  missionary support list for Life pointe church in Elkgrove CA. Thank you for partnering with us down here in this part of God's kingdom.
If you have any questions or if you have any ideas about fund raising for these girls please send me an email at debmverdin@gmail.com. If you feel led to give financially please send your tax deductible donation to COTM-Bishop address is as follows: Church on the Mountain-Bishop, 165 Sequoia St. Bishop CA 93514, please put College fund in the memo line and make your check or money order out to COTM.

Blessings and much love to all of you without your prayers and support none of this would be possible.

Angels among us :)

Greetings children of God; yesterday was Easter and to ponder on all that Jesus did for us is more then my mind can wrap itself around. I must attempt to quiet my mind and immerse myself in Him. None of this would be possible without the sacrifice that He made for all of us. My life has meaning and purpose because of Jesus and what He did for us. " Do not be conformed to this world (this age), (fashioned after and adapted to it's external, superficial customs), but be transformed (changed) by the (entire) renewal of your mind (by its new ideals and its new attitude), so that you may prove (for yourselves) what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect (in His sight for you)" Romans 12:2 amp. We are here as ambassadors for Christ, we are His representatives, He died for us. For some people we are the only image of Jesus they have ever seen. "Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor, be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord." Romans 12:11 amp. We thank you Lord for using us as instruments for your Glory.

VBS fun time

Frank and I had the opportunity to serve along side Life point Church coming down from Elk grove CA. They built two houses for needy families and had an amazing VBS (vacation bible school) for the families/children in the area. They were here with us for 4 days, they have been coming down for many years. It is the first time that I have been able to participate. To see the faces of the family members when they receive the keys to their new home is an experience that I will never forget. To spread the Love of Jesus to these families and all the children in the area. To show them that they are important that they do count, that Jesus loves them, through action. I love the quote, "spread the gospel use words if necessary." It means so much to us down here for these groups to come down and help, to make the time for those in need. "Contribute to the needs of God's people (sharing in the necessities of the saints); pursue the practice of hospitality" Romans 12:13 amp. One of the families had a special needs child, he appeared to me to be an angel from God. I was able to pray for him and his spirit is so sweet. God uses many different avenues to reach us and I believe He is using sweet Isaac to touch so many lives. Thank you Life pointe!!

"To Mexico with Love" was also here with a prayer and healing team this month. We were able to attend four different church's laying hands on the sick. Allowing ourselves to be instruments for the healing hands of God. I love that He has given us authority over the power of the enemy. "Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you" Luke 10:19 NKJV. He has given us authority over ALL the power of the enemy, (us, you and me) WOW!! To pray for the sick and they get healed, to believe that God lives inside of us and works through us to heal the sick, so simple but yet not so easy. We have seen time and time again people getting healed. We praise the Lord and all the glory goes to Him!! Yay God!! We were able to go to Rancho Milagro and spend some time with the babies when the group was here from Bishop. I was really touched by a little baby girl no more then three weeks old. So little and so vulnerable to the world. God needs us to help Him take care of His children, all of His children not just the newborn babies. We are called as believers to step up and wake up and help God!! Thank you team from Bishop for coming down and spreading the Love of Jesus.

Wes and Demas

Our long time friend Fredrico was called home to be with the Lord last week. He had diabetes for the last 10 years and he was one of the most joyful people I have ever met. He was blind and could barely walk and he was so filled with the joy of the Lord. He lived above his circumstances and his light shined very brightly for all of us to see. We will see you again when we are called home to be with Jesus!!

RIP Fredrico

FAITHFUL IN THE SMALL THINGS

View from our house in Cerro Azul

Greetings children of God; this is my second attempt at this blog update. The first one was finished
and somehow the computer ate all of it. So I took it as a sign that I needed to wait on the Lord and another topic was going to come along. Lo and behold a fresh revelation came to me yesterday. I finally got it, the Holy Spirit began speaking about service. Yes of course serving others, giving of ones self, doing unto others, no problem we say," I am a servant". Here is the thing that I received yesterday, we must start at home. I heard Joyce Meyer speak on this recently and I thought I had already received this revelation but just in words not in actual action. To actually serve the ones closest to us as if we were serving Jesus himself. Colossians 3v17 amp. version states, "And whatever you do (no matter what it is) in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in (dependence upon) His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him". It says whatever you do, not just the fun stuff or the food drives or the picnics. Everything, cleaning the toilet or in my case the out house, the dishes, the laundry all things. Starting at home in our shelters but also in our earthly tents. Cleaning "house" for the Lord, create a pure heart in me is always one of my prayers. We begin at home in the small things and later larger things will come. To attach great faith to all that we do, even the smallest of tasks.  Give it a try, pray over the bathroom as you clean it, ask for the next person who enters to experience God in a new way a huge wave of love, or the next person who touches a dish that you have washed. The possibilities are endless we serve a Mighty God!!

Ken Cluff
Birthday party at Sister Juanita's

Rehab Center in Tecate
Art work in their meeting room/chapel
Here are some pictures of the Rehab center that I spoke about in the last blog, I wanted to give you guys a visual.

Ron "To Mexico with Love" came down last month with Ken Cluff. Ken is the first person Ron ever came down to Mexico with approx. 29 years ago. Ken was a college student then and Ron came along as his partner for the trip. Ron fell in love with Mexico and the people and their humble and loving spirits, he has continued to come down ever since. Many lives have been changed by Ron's decision to come to Mexico, including mine. This is a great example of how the Lord uses His people, one step of obedience can impact the lives of so many. We are so blessed to have Ron in our lives.

Frank and I were able to surprise Ron with a birthday party at Hermana Juanita's house, (they did all of the work all we had to do was get Ron there without him knowing about it). Juanita and her family are some of the first people God was able to help thru Ron. He is continuing to help them by raising money to send her girls to College. Juanita has five girls and four boys and her husband committed suicide approx. 15 years ago, her youngest daughter has down syndrome. They are the most loving family, you can see the Holy Spirit in them shining out! It is an incredible sight, to hear them all praying together. I love this family!

God has also placed an amazing woman named Laura in our paths. She runs a shelter for the Kumiai children. She has three different locations with approx. 150 kids and young adults. The Kumiai are some of the indigenous people in the area, they receive no help from the Mexican government. We have been collecting donations for them from different groups. They are in need of almost everything, food, clothing, blankets, towels, bedding etc. If the Lord places it in your heart to donate to us for them please contact me at debmverdin@gmail.com, or see Ron.

Prayer requests:

*Ron and the team will be down this week, please lift us up for an overflow of the Living Water. I will be headed back to Bishop with them to visit and attend my daughter's baby shower. Please keep us in your prayers, I am almost a "Nana".

* Pat and John Haley need prayer, John fell and broke his knee and has been non-weight bearing for the last 6 weeks.

* As always prayer for the Ministry down here, for increased provision, workers, (the harvest is ready), guidance and direction.

Future visits/events:

*"To Mexico with Love" will be coming down March 17th for prayer and healing trip.

*Lifepointe Church from Elkgrove, CA coming down March 19th for building projects and VBS.

*Calvary Bible Church in Marshfield, WI coming down June the 4th to work with Pastor Ezekiel's church and doing some projects for the community in Cerro Azul.

*Mexico Medical Ministries is having a medical/dental brigada June the 18th in Cerro Azul.

Thank you for all that you are doing for us down here in this part of God's kingdom, Christ's love to you!! Without your prayers and support none of this would be possible.

Christ in you the hope of glory!

Happy New Year, greetings to all! We have entered a brand new year, glistening with hope!  I pray to be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I only want what He wants for me! No longer I, me or mine but all for Him. When we turn our focus solely to Jesus and place ALL things in His hands. We can begin to live free; again not saying that this is an easy task. We continue to pick things back up that we have declared to Him for His care. Never giving up He will always be so patient with us and our current state of mind. Because all things have already been taken care of for us. I believe it is a matter of our mindset as to where we are in the process of believing, of letting go. He has delivered us from the powers of darkness, that is what was accomplished on the cross. God has been speaking to me about the darkness, it is not the absence of darkness it is the presence of light. I know we hear that all the time, but to live from that place is entirely different. I believe it is His desire for us to step into the darkness, shine His light for all to see! He lives in us and no power of darkness can harm us if we believe in what was accomplished on the cross. That is not to say put ourselves in harms way or in my case in situations that could cause a relapse. People say well if God has delivered you from something then it should not be a problem, yes of course but I believe all people are different and not to overly tempt us to use wisdom in all cases. I personally still do not like to be around a lot of alcohol, yes it makes my heart sing with the gladness that I am no longer captive to it. On the other hand it makes me very uncomfortable to be around so to step into darkness with wisdom is the word I am getting. I love the way the Lord works with us he is always so patient. Yay God!!

Here we are in a New Year, for those of you who do not know my daughter will be having a baby the first part of May. Yes I will officially be a "Nana" you can call me that starting now so I can get used to it. I still feel like a young person myself, yes of course more aches and pains but until I look in the mirror, I hardly even pay attention to my age. I have had to get more serious down here but I will continue to pursue Joy in all areas. I take things too seriously and as I have been told, can drowned myself in a glass of water. That has to do with the lies of the enemy, making things bigger then they seem. Like a shadow monster when you turn on the light the truth will be revealed. We are the light, we carry the truth, it lives inside of us. We are not who we were in the past, those feelings are not accurate. I tend to feel like I bother people all the time, like I am in their way. Those are feelings from the past, not who I am today not the person that God is creating in His image. Again Yay God!! I want to express it is not about what we do it is about who we are, Who we carry inside of our earthen vessels. He will direct our steps and we will have no worries or concerns as long as we listen and obey!

On that note let's talk about the Christmas party in Valle de las Palmas, Polvorine. Ron and the group came down the middle of December and it was Ron, Gary, Michael and Felicia and one newby his name is Arnie. What a pleasure it was to meet him and it is always so great to see new faces. We were able to hand out blankets and toys and had a great meal with all of the members of the Church out there. Cora was missed she has relocated to be with her family and have time to rest. It was not the same with out her. The new pastor is amazing we really are blessed by him and his family. Pastor Martin came from Tijuana with his wife and two of his children, although at Christmas he also had another daughter and grandson with him to visit. They are staying in the Church and in a tiny travel trailer out back. They also answered the call of the Lord on their lives to come to Polvorine and Pastor God's people. We had an amazing prayer service, different then all the other times the music continued to play and it became apparent that words were not so important. It was the belief, the faith, the love, the compassion. The Spirit of the living God was all around us and people were falling out all around us, they would cover them up with blankets. We would sit and pray with them and they would wake up from the ground so surprised that they had been on the floor. Brand new, refreshed all things are possible with Jesus! The meal that they prepared was amazing as always, tamales and posole. Those are Ron's favorites and the ladies like to make things that feel his heart with happiness. The children sang with the worship band, Michael got to play drums, blankets and toys were given out with lots of God's love.

Blankets
Again all this is possible because of your donations, we are making a difference in lives because of your prayers and support. God is using Frank and I down here on the front lines, we are able to help with all the preparation for TMWL for when they come down to visit. Please see Ron if it is something that interests you because I can say with all certainty your life will be changed. I only was planning on coming down and handing out blankets. My life will never be the same, I was so blessed to be able to spend so much time with the girl's in their house at Rancho San Juan Bosco and then fell in love with my wonderful husband and best friend. God had other plans for me and that stepping out in Faith of course was so scary but the Lord is far more capable then I am at handling my life.

TMWL was able to bless a Rehab center in Tecate with 100lbs of rice and 100lbs of beans. This center is new to us for visits. God placed them in our path and we immediately knew that they were a place that God wanted us to help. We gave blankets and food to them, the rehab has been open for approx. 6 years and Lolo runs the center with the help of some of his long term residents. He takes people out of their addiction and situation with no questions asked, no money required only a humble heart and a willingness to change. They are Christ centered and at this time 18 people were there, they have bunk beds and beds on the floor a beautiful meeting room/chapel lots of murals and inspirational art work. Addiction is so misunderstood, the truth is with out Jesus I believe sobriety is very difficult to retain. We support how we can and what we have.

We also made a trip out to Rancho Milagro to see the babies and the kids! God placed that orphanage in out path some time ago we bring clothes, food, formula, diapers etc. again when we can. Please lift them up in prayer for financial support and man power. Right now they have 8 babies and about 20 kids. Very humble surroundings and they have a garden in place to help with food and they grow olives to supplement their income.
peek a boo
lots of babies to hold

Some of these babies come to the Ranch with no name and in need of so much love. It is very emotional when we are able to take people to visit and hold and love on the babies. At this time they have five girls who also live in the house with the babies and one amazing care giver. Mariana takes care of all of the babies around the clock along with the girls. Every time we see her she is smiling and so dedicated and so humble. A true servant of the Lord, putting the needs of the children before her own. Who by the way loves coffee so feel free to donate if you feel led.

God has placed lots of stuff on my heart for this new year, we hope to have the transitional home up and running on a small scale by June. Hoping for a few young men to start with and later, well God knows about later. Also my husband would like to get a very dedicated group of people together to go into the landfill and visit and spread the love of Jesus. Please pray for dedicated people who love the Lord for this part of the ministry. We need solid people who are not easily shaken! Thank you Lord for always providing for our needs. The Lord will guide and protect us always, we have a few more items that we would like to accomplish this new year, but like always God is in Charge and we are here to serve Him. We are here to be hands and feet for groups as they come to visit and to facilitate their needs and God given desires for service.

Christ's love to all who read this, please pray for us and our Ministry down here in Northern Baja California. Ron and the team will be here again this month on the 21st, they will come in Feb on the 18th and I will be headed to Bishop for a week leaving on the 23rd. Happy to see everyone from Bishop then!!  Ron and team are coming in March on the 17th and Frank and I are also expecting Life Point Church to come down for building projects and VBS on the 19th of March, so happy to see all of them again. Mexico Medical Ministries is planning a huge medical/dental project down here in June. Please continue to lift up John and Pat Haley who we are partnering with for the food and clothing donations along with moral support and also lots of really good home cooked meals and baked goods, thanks to you both. We are blessed by all of you who support us through provision and prayer. More to follow look forward to the next update. Enjoy the new year, big hug!!
had to put this in "tired missionary" after a hard days work, still smiling :)

God's Spirit within us :)

Greetings to all! God has been speaking to me in so many ways about focusing on His Spirit within me. I want to share with you Galatians 3v16 it states Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. Jesus is the seed, God plants the seed. We are the ground, the ground must be kept plowed and weed free. I am reading emails from Wendy Backlund/Feasting on the Spirit and she makes such a beautiful observation, she says "instead of trying to kill your old nature and prevent sin, focus on your new nature. See yourself as alive to righteousness. Focus on training your brain to be aware of God in yourself, drawing yourself to those things that are pure, healthy, and full of grace." Everything does not change all at once it is a process. The Holy Spirit along with our yielded hearts can begin to make the needed changes in our lives. I find peace in knowing that God has gone before us, He has made the path in which we are to walk. Cling to Jesus and He will never let you down.
Ron and the team came for a visit on November the 5th - 8th. Ron, Gary and Jes Schwartzkopf. Great visit we were able to get 23 cans of formula for the babies out at Rancho Milagro, yay God! Visited many families, the newest family God has placed into our path is a single Mother of 7 who escaped an abusive relationship and is currently caretaking a house but will need to leave soon. Pastor Ezekiel has a home for abused women on his church property so we believe she and all of her children will be able to live their on a temporary basis until she can get her family onto their feet. One of the younger boys is also bi-polar and is currently not on any medication. She is able to work here and there with odd jobs when her kids are in school. Her oldest daughter is hopeing to attend College next semester so we are praying for support for them. Please lift them up in your prayers her name is Veronica and here is a picture of her with the smaller kids. She is so grateful for any and all help that we can give her. She said she is just happy to eat beans and tortillas with her children in peace. It reminds me of the Proverbs that says " Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, Than a fatted calf with hatred".

Veronica and the kids

Fredrico looks the best I have ever seen him look, he is the man who is blind and has diabetes. Ron and the team have been visiting them for many years and God has given that man such a wonderful outlook on life. He was riding around in the car with his son, smiling and beaming with the glow of God's grace and glory.
Fredrico and Alisha

Jes blessed Frank and I with a new bed. We had to burn our old box spring due to a bed bug infestation. We are so grateful to her, bed bugs are no joke. They give a new meaning to the word "bug". They did not want to go away it appears we have it taken care of after burning the bed and spraying the house three times. Thank you Father God for meeting all of our needs. What matters to us matters to Him, no matter how big or how small. Proverbs 11v25 says "The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself". I can testify to that 100%, the more that we give the more we receive. Yes of course in the spirit realm but also in the natural, I have never gone without since I began this journey of complete reliance on Father God for my well being. All of my needs are met by donations from you! His children, (wow!!) to trust Him like this gives me such a sense of freedom.

Frank and I were blessed to be able to take a family shopping for food and school uniforms, thanks to a generous donation for them. The joy I feel when I see them so excited in the store over cheese and bacon, the things lots of us take for granted, fills me up to keep on going. Each day is a new begining, it is not to say that all is going to be smooth. I have already experienced loss and pain, in Bishop I was safe in my cocoon and God grew me and sent me out. I came here with rose colored glasses on and wanted all things to be as they appear on the surface. The truth is things  are not always  as they seem, little by little in a way that only God could have with me He is showing me the truth about many things. I will always stand for truth and love, knowing in the deepest part of my soul that God has gone before me and yes there will be disapointment any time we deal with the sinful nature of mankind. Hate the sin not the sinner, always with a grateful heart not to worry about the outcome of things but to focus on the Presence of the Lord.

Guadalupe and his wife Estella

Their two beautiful girls!

Ron will be back with a team on December the 17th buying blankets now for his visit our goal is 100
blankets we have already purchased 64 and will soon be able to get another 30 or so. Ron already brought warm jackets for us to give out to the people here. It gets very cold here at night and most people do not have heat. Your donations do matter in a real way. What you do for the least of God's children is like you are doing it directly to Jesus. Christ's love to you, (that is alot of love)! Big hug :) Talk with you next month, Bye for now!

Miracle Babies

Greetings and much love sent out from me to all who are reading this. I ask God to use me as a channel for His honor, love and glory. My hope is all who read this find inspiration and desire to serve our Jesus. We had an amazing week down here last week. We were honored by a visit from two groups one from  Nevada and another from Utah. Frank and I had an amazing time reuniting with old friends and also making new ones. Yay God!! it is never boring when you are in service to the Lord. I believe He puts people in our path's just because He feels that we would enjoy them in our lives. As a gift to us, from our Father. Frank and I had been notified of a need that a local orphanage had a

need for baby formula. There is an orphanage in Valle de las Palmas called Rancho Milagro and they have 10 babies at this time. Their cost for formula is 500.00 per month, we were able to take some of the group members to visit them and God placed on their hearts to donate to their need. These babies come from very young Mom's ages 12-18 and one of the smallest infants was found in a toilet and rescued. Miracle Ranch is located about 15 miles from where Frank and I live so it is even more isolated yet a beautiful area. One of the group members got so excited and touched by God that he wants to start the process to adopt one of these precious gems. I felt so blessed to be able to take them here, I felt like look what we found out here a whole bunch of beautiful babies. Needless to say I will be spending some time there just holding and loving babies.

We got to spend some time at Cora's church in Polvorine and Pastor Jim spoke to the people there. They are going through a transition and we are here to help support them in any and all ways that God leads us to.

Each time a group comes down here to see what is really going on in Mexico not just what you hear on TV or radio. Yes of course there are dangers but dangers are everywhere. I have been down here for 16 months and praise God not problems other then a few minor health issues which all were resolved. God takes care of His children and we are the vessels in which He uses to spread His love. I ask you from the depths of my heart to help those in need. Lend a hand to a less fortunate child of God, we can help no matter what situation we are currently in. We do not have to wait to be "better" to help another. Our brokenness is what is attractive to another in the same situation. "It is those who have been in the fight who can tell about the victories, it is in the trials that we are made" (Smith Wigglesworth). The devil who is a liar wants us to believe that we are too broken to make a difference. Again we are never too broken with God on our side, no matter what we have done or where we have come from or what we have come out of. God will ALWAYS pick up the pieces and make a beautiful masterpiece out of our garbage. My husband lived in a landfill for five years while in his addiction, now that is hitting rock bottom in my opinion. That is how low the devil can make a person feel about themselves, we are not our situations. God can and will use us, give Him a chance and see what happens. Please do not wait for a feeling, step out in Faith and watch His love flow through you. Trust me the feelings will come, the Joy of the Lord can be yours, it is already yours all you need to do is claim it. Yay God!!!

Freedom from Depression

Freedom from Depression
I will spend the rest of my life in a state of "Forever Praise". My desire is to spend each moment of each day in a state of awareness of the Presence of God. Thanking Him for all that He has done for me. I say my desire because it is not as easy as it sounds. The cares of this world can quickly bring us down, without us even knowing. To stay in continual awareness of our Creator, our Saviour, our Friend, our Constant Companion will give such a sense of ease to our days and to those around us. People say "why do you laugh so much". I simply say it because of what Jesus has delivered me from.
He brought me out of a deep depression many years of drug and alcohol addiction, suicide attempts, episodes of self mutilation and extremely destructive behavior. I had lost contact with my children and I was in such a place of despair. "He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in mouth- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And trust in the Lord." (Psalm 40v2-3) God saved me in 2009, I did not become completely drug free until a year later. God delivered me and set me free, slowly but surely my life began to change. I was able to begin to breakaway from a destructive marriage and destructive behavior and depression and shame and self-hatred. The laughter came at a conference in Bishop, CA at my church "the River". The speaker was Steve Backlund and he spoke from such a place of truth to my spirit and the laughter came upon me and I have never been the same. I want to say earlier that day I had gone to the 10am session and alot of people were laughing and I was getting annoyed because I could not hear the speaker. Later that day I was engulfed in uncontrollable laughter. The chains began to break off and the freedom from depression was lifted. Cane Ridge Camp meetings (1800-1801) is one of the first documented experiences of "holy laughter", deliverance and freedom from lifelong depression, fear and sadness was a result from this joyful encounter with the Lord.
My experience of uncontrollable joy along with daily affirmations of truth. Began to change me from the inside out, even if you do not believe the positive declarations speak them. A saying in "AA" is fake it until you make it, that is not being fake that is acting above your emotions . I had been paralyzed with fear my mind was a playground for the devil. Jesus rules by Peace and Satan rules by fear. Submit to God resist the devil and he will flee. Never lose hope, He can and will deliver you from any and all afflictions, nothing is too big for Our God. I also want to say that it took almost being physically dead and mentally so confused and lost. Searching for the answer in all of the wrong places. That void could never be filled by anything other then the Love of our Jesus.  I never thought I would be able to function in life again. I was tormented and broken and I thought beyond repair, but He being so gentle and patient never gave up on me and I will praise Him all of the days of my life. A yielded heart is a beautiful thing. Jesus is the answer!!!

Me reunited with my kids :) All the Glory goes to God!!
